SAN FRANCISCO, California – NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced today a new league rule that grants team owners the ability to challenge referee calls. Similar to the coach’s challenge, owners will get one challenge per game with a second awarded if the first is successful.

The two rules will only differ in the sense that if an owner’s challenge is unsuccessful, the offending ref will be suspended three months without pay.

Additionally, if the owner wins their first challenge, they may waive their right to a second in exchange for “unlimited wishes.”

During his announcement, the commissioner called the move “possibly precented” and reasserted his steadfast commitment to fan and player satisfaction.

When asked how he would personally define integrity, Silver said, “this continues to be the vibe. Let me know when this is no longer the vibe.”
