DK Metcalf Announces NFL Retirement to Join UFC Heavyweight Division

After punching a fan DK Metcalf announced his retirement from the NFL to change careers and sign with in the UFC heavyweight division; to fight Derick Lewis.

SACRAMENTO -- DK Metcalf has been throwing fists, specifically at a fan's stupid idiot face. The punch form was solid. He twisted his hips for torque, his left hand was up for the guard, chin was tucked, feet at a 45 degree angle, on his toes. It is almost like he was a free birth in the Octagon. And who was the mohel? None other than Dana White. White was watching a highlight clip of the game and the wide receiver's uncanny fight IQ caught his eye. His people spoke with DK's and a deal was quickly signed. DK announced his retirement, and his career pivot to MMA Fighter.

His first opponent will be Derrick Lewis. Gilbert Burns will be in his corner, and has been training DK in his gym. DK will be fighting at a weight of 230 after his recent round of cutting. DK is famously jacked so not much training is necessary.

We are stoked to see some new blood in the UFC, especially from non-traditional backgrounds. We think DK can go all the way as the champion.
