After Dangerous Climb Of Taipei 101, Alex Honnold Announces Plan To Climb The Social Ladder
LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Following the success of his live-streamed climb of the 1,667ft skyscraper Taipei 101 without a rope or harness, free solo climber Alex Honnold is now saying his next ambitious climb will be the social ladder. “The plan is to go from friendless loser to beloved socialite and do it without any safety equipment or tethers to reality, which should be really exciting,” said Honnold, who has been a household name since 2017 when he became the first person to make a free solo ascent of El Capitan in Yosemite. “This is also just the first in a series of climbs I’m planning for the near future. Next up is the corporate ladder. After that, the political cliff and steps of the religious clergies, and along the way I’ll climb the organizational pyramids of the military and our manufacturing sector. These seem like really fun, challenging climbs, and I sort of think of it like that Mallory quote about Everest. "Because it's there."
