SACRAMENTO -- Recently Basketball has been reminding me too much of Game of Thrones and other popular fantasy.

• A young guy name Bran seems to have some kind of super powers recently.
• Kings are always being defeated, particularly by a group of Warriors who worship a large "Golden Bridge"
• Light the Beam? Derivative of the Beacons lit when Gondor calls for aid.
• I want to say the NBA ripped the whole points thing off from Dumbledore.
• Adam Silver is a vampire.
• It is a game played pretty much exclusively by giants.
• It is reminiscent of the ōllamaliztli game from the Aztecs, where a rubber ball was kicked through stone hoops.
• You show up to a game, and drink a magic potion that make you fight others.

While I'd say that the recent shuffle of college football coaches and NFL coach/reporter scandals are more George R. R. Martin esque, basketball has a bit more whimsy.

Other than that it is a pretty normal event.
